Wall-to-Wall Studios Designs Rebranding for Karai Crab

Located in Honolulu, HI, Karai Crab delivers an elevated seafood boil experience with a focus on freshness and presentation. Karai Crab was the brainchild of partners Garret Kamei and Jon Shimotsukasa, harking on their shared dining experiences at crab restaurants on the mainland.  W|W was commissioned to evolve the restaurant's visual branding and to design some fun, Instagram-worthy environmental graphics. The elevated new logo has an updated look but maintains the personality of the original. Inspired by the leadership’s local Japanese heritage, the new mascot draws from the daruma – a traditional Japanese wishing doll and well-known symbol of perseverance and good luck. The "Laws of the Claw" wall graphic was designed to bring to life the brand's voice of fun, family-friendly, and genuinely local fare.
