Introducing S3D, Carnegie Mellon University's Software and Societal Systems Department.

Formerly the Institute for Software Research (ISR), S3D is a department within CMU's School of Computer Science, which focuses on the research of software systems—covering important topics such as economics, social issues, public policy, and privacy. After recognizing that the department’s brand felt disconnected from its academic programming and impact, W|W was commissioned to design and deliver a comprehensive rebranding initiative, including a new name & narrative, brand strategy & platform, and integrated visual identity system.
