Congratulations to our client Breadshop, whose corporate identity system won a spot in this year's Brand New Awards. 714 entries were submitted and 75 winners were announced last week. Here's what the organizers themselves had to say about it:
"Just when you think judges can’t get any tougher, they do. And this crop of judges proved especially hard to please. Unimpressed by recycling of styles or great visuals that didn’t match the client, they all looked for something unexpected, surprising, and/or meaningful. Perhaps when we asked the judges to be tough we didn’t expect them to select the lowest amount of entries yet in our three-year run, despite there being almost 200 entries more than the first year when the judges at the time selected 90 entries. But one rule we have is that there is no minimum quota of projects we need to include. Whatever bubbles to the top makes it. Simple as that."
We're proud of our collaboration with Breadshop founder Christopher Sy, and apparently lots of other folks in Hawaii are fond of his work too.
If you had installed a Solar Water Heating system in Hawaii a year ago, by now you could have saved about 40% on your home's electric bill. What you do with that savings, of course, is up to you. Wall-to-Wall Studios has launched the new Solar Water Heating awareness campaign for Hawaii Energy to promote their limited time $1000 instant rebate plus additional federal and state tax credits. W|W developed the new campaign for TV, online, print and radio.
Wall-to-Wall Studios designed the integrated identity systems and branding campaigns for ReFuel and ReEnergize, two key programs of GTECH Strategies, a non-profit social venture that merges community development and principles of sustainability into a synthesized model for sustainable community development.

Wall-to-Wall Studios will be represented at the Pittsburgh American Advertising Awards show tonight at the Carnegie Science Center, both in the audience and during the category announcements. The 2012-2013 Addys bring together the local marketing industry celebrating the best advertising, design and interactive work from the past year. A few years back, the Pittsburgh Advertising Federation decided to offer its talented pool of members the opportunity to create introductory videos for categories in the contest. This year will see the debut of a rap video starring a W|W co-founder along with a W|W alum (see the video here):
"The stars of the video -- James Nesbitt of North Side-based Wall-to-Wall Studios and Matt Hildebrand of Mullen, in the Strip District -- recorded the audio ahead of time and then lip-synched. That was trickier than it sounds."
Wall-to-Wall Studios executed an integrated branding refinement for hyperCision that includes a responsively designed website, sales collateral, trade show booth graphics and more. hyperCision delivers strategic and implementation consulting services for Learning Management Systems, including SAP and SuccessFactors. The Chicago-based firm launched the updated branding at HR 2013 in Las Vegas, NV where hyperCision CEO Sharon Wolf Newton is a key speaker. HR 2013 is the most important event of the year for professionals that use and support SAP solutions for HR.

"We are delighted to welcome our new board members. Their involvement and guidance will support the new direction Bishop Museum has taken to ensure our institution continues to be an invaluable community resource now and for generations to come,” said Blair Collis, president and CEO of Bishop Museum. “Each of them brings a unique perspective and experience to the table and we look forward to having them onboard to strengthen the Museum on all fronts of its operation."
Bishop Museum was founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop in honor of his late wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last descendant of the royal Kamehameha family. The Museum was established to house the extensive collection of Hawaiian artifacts and royal family heirlooms of the Princess, and has expanded to include millions of artifacts, documents and photographs about Hawai‘i and other Pacific island cultures.
Today, Bishop Museum is the largest museum in the state and the premier natural and cultural history institution in the Pacific, recognized throughout the world for its cultural collections, research projects, consulting services and public educational programs. It also has one of the largest natural history specimen collections in the world. Serving and representing the interests of Native Hawaiians is a primary purpose of the Museum.
