Several Wall-to-Wall Studios' Projects Selected by PRINT Regional Design Annual

PRINT'S Regional Design Annual, the most comprehensive survey of graphic design in the United States, selected two projects by Wall-to-Wall Studios for inclusion in the December 2010 issue of Print. The first winning entry was for the 2009/2010 Season marketing communications for the School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University, which included direct mail, print collateral and environmental elements. The second winning entry was for the logo and identity system designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios for the community of Oakland. Working in collaboration with the Oakland Community Council, Oakland Task Force, City of Pittsburgh Planning & Public Art and other key stakeholders, Wall-to-Wall Studios designed the branding for Oakland, the third largest commerce center in Pennsylvania and is often considered the cultural hub of the region.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Wins Graphis Gold Award For Oakland Identity

The logo and identity system designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios for the community of Oakland was selected by Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, as a Gold Award winner in the Design Annual 2011.  Working in collaboration with the Oakland Community Council, Oakland Task Force, City of Pittsburgh Planning & Public Art and other key stakeholders, Wall-to-Wall Studios designed the branding for Oakland, the third largest commerce center in Pennsylvania and often considered the cultural hub of the region.

Wall-to-Wall Wins National ADDY Award for Bar 35 TV Ad

Wall-to-Wall Studios received a National ADDY Award for Special Effects on the Bar 35 TV commercial. Bar 35 is a ritzy, retro bar on Hotel Street in the newly energized Downtown-Chinatown area of Honolulu and is rumored to have Hawaii's best happy hour.  With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition and represent the true spirit of creative excellence.

Carnegie Mellon Brag Book Wins CASE Circle of Excellence Awards

Wall-to-Wall Studios was recently recognized with two Circle of Excellence Awards for The Little Brag Book designed for the Carnegie Mellon University Advancement Office. The honors were bestowed by The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).  The Circle of Excellence Awards are advancement’s premier international awards.  The Little Brag Book showcases innovations attributed to the university's alumni, faculty and students and was created to support the Campaign for Carnegie Mellon University, Inspire Innovation.  The Little Brag Book was selected as a Silver award winner in two categories:

--Individual institutional relations publications: other promotional publications category

--Excellence in design: books category

EDU Checkup Gives "A" Rating to Website Designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios for Carnegie Mellon Qatar

The Carnegie Mellon Qatar Campus website (http://www.qatar.cmu.edu/) designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios was one of the university/college sites reviewed by EDU Checkup in 2010 and achieved an overall 92-A rating, one of the higher scores given.  The Carnegie Mellon Qatar Campus website scored a 96 in graphics and visual imagery and a 92 in content and information. The website is powered by W|W CMS, Wall-to-Wall Studios' content management system.

Wall-to-Wall Studios was recently honored with two Design Excellence Awards at Context: AIGA Pittsburgh's Annual Design Competition and Exhibition.  Wall-to-Wall Studios won accolades for the Little Brag Book designed for the Carnegie Mellon University Advancement Office.  The Little Brag Book showcases innovations attributed to the university's alumni, faculty and students and was created to support the Campaign for Carnegie Mellon University, Inspire Innovation.  And, the website designed and developed by Wall-to-Wall Studios for Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR), www.paar.net also received a Design Excellence Award. PAAR responds to survivors of sexual violence with crisis intervention and counseling, educates the community to prevent sexual violence, and advocates for systems to respond to and prevent sexual violence. The other selected entries from Wall-to-Wall Studios in Context included Clothesline (Promotional Design for The Women's Auxiliary of Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC), Oakland (Identity Design for The Oakland Task Force) and School of Drama Season Carnegie Mellon (Promotional Design).

W|W also won a "Silver Award" for its brochure design for the University of Hawaii Shidler College of Business and a "Merit Award" for its Logo / Identity design of the West Virginia Research Trust, commissioned by West Virginia University.

EDU Checkup Gives "A" Rating to Website Designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios for Eastern University

The Eastern University website (www.eastern.edu) designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios was one of 100 university/college sites reviewed by EDU Checkup in 2009 and achieved an overall 96-A rating, the third highest score given.  Eastern's website scored a 96 in graphics and imagery, a 96 in content and navigability, and another 96 in the behind-the-scenes coding.

The Honolulu Chapter of AIGA held its bi-annual HAWAII’S 5-O DESIGN AWARDS SHOW at the Pauahi Tower, Downtown Honolulu on November 6th, celebrating the State’s best in Print, Environmental, Packaging and Web design. CASE Grand Gold Award for Nazareth College microsite

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) awarded W|W’s work on the Nazareth College Flight of the Flyers website with the Grand GOLD Circle of Excellence honors, in the Alumni Relations Program category.  The Circle of Excellence are advancement’s premier international awards. The site integrates a Google API mapping component to connect alumni using web 2.0 technology.
