Red Crown Productions Debuts "Goats" At Sundance Film Festival; Launches Website Designed By Wall-to-Wall Studios

Red Crown Productions, a New York-based development and production company founded by Daniel Crown and Daniela Taplin Lundberg that produces independent and studio-partnered high-end films, debuted Goats at the Sundance Film Festival.  Red Crown also launched the company's website, www.redcrownproductions.com, in concert with the film premiere at Sundance. The website was designed and developed by Wall-to-Wall Studios and includes the integrated branding firm's custom content management system (CMS).

 

Goats is directed by Christopher Neil, written by Mark Jude Poirier and stars David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga, Graham Phillips, Justin Kirk and Ty BurrellIn. The film's storyline has fourteen-year-old Ellis leaving his unconventional, luxurious desert home to attend the rigorous Gates Academy, where he reconnects with his estranged father.  Read more about Goats in the Sundance Film Guide or the Red Crown website.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Wins Awards At AIGA "Hawaii's 5-O" Design Show

The Honolulu Chapter of AIGA held its bi-annual "Hawaii's 5-O Design Awards Show" at the Bishop Museum last month, celebrating the State's best in Print, Environmental, Packaging, Web and Student Design. Wall-to-Wall Studios' Design For Burgatory Wins PRINT Regional Design Annual

December 19, 2011

 

PRINT'S Regional Design Annual, the most comprehensive survey of graphic design in the United States, selected a project by Wall-to-Wall Studios for inclusion in the December 2011 issue of PRINT. The winning entry was for the Identity and Branding of Burgatory, a restaurant in Pittsburgh that features helluva burgers and heavenly shakes. In addition to creating the visual branding (logo, taglines), W|W also designed the on-site collateral (menus, gift cards, to go packaging), website, environmental and decor elements (signage, wayfinding) and merchandising.

Congratulations to Wall-to-Wall Studios very own Dr. Science, Mr. Scott Werner and his small gaggle of geeks for being selected as one of five finalists for the 2011 Virgina Tech Manufacturing Innovation Competition. Their entry, a surge protector that communicates per outlet power usage to a web site, enables people to monitor their power usage and power costs on a per device basis and also turn the power on or off remotely. Can't find that at your local Home Depot...yet

Robert Morris University "Change A Life" Campaign Awarded 2 CASE Silvers and 2011 Golden Quill

"Change A Life", the branding campaign created by Wall-to-Wall Studios for Robert Morris University, a private, coeducational university in Pittsburgh, PA, was recently honored with several awards.

 

CASE, the Council for Advancement in Support of Education, recognized the campaign with 2 Silver Awards (Advertising Campaign, TV/Commercial Spots) in its Circle of Excellence competition, advancement’s premier international awards.

 

And, The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania honored the campaign in the 47th annual Golden Quill Awards, a competition that recognizes professional excellence in written, photographic, broadcast and online journalism in Western Pennsylvania.

"Change A Life", the integrated marketing initiative, was deployed across outdoor, print, web, social marketing channels and admissions recruitment materials. "Change A Life" promotes the unique Engaged Learning curriculum, whereby students "reach-out" into the community to inspire change, including their own.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Wins National Silver ADDY for Hawaii Energy TV

Wall-to-Wall Studios was honored with a National Silver ADDY Award for the "Not Another Drop" TV Advertisement created for Hawaii Energy. The ADDY Awards are the world's largest advertising competition, and Not Another Drop was selected from 1,382 entries received at the national level of the three tiered contest. Hawaii Energy is the conservation and efficiency program helping reduce Hawaii's dependence on foreign oil. The public awareness TV advertising campaign is promoting energy efficiency and independence.

The American Association of Museums Recognizes Carnegie Museum of Art Annual Report

The American Association of Museums (AAM)  recognized the Carnegie Museum of Art Annual Report designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios as a second prize winner in the AAM Museum Publications Design Competition. For more than 25 years, AAM has recognized and encouraged excellence in the graphic design of museum publications through the Museum Publications Design Competition, the only national, juried competition of its kind. Winners are chosen for their overall design excellence, creativity and ability to express an institution’s personality, mission or special features. The panel of judges includes graphic designers, museum professionals and publishers.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Wins "Best of Show" for Robert Morris University Campaign at 26th Annual Educational Advertising Awards

Wall-to-Wall Studios was recently honored with "Best of Show" accolades for the Change A Life campaign designed for Robert Morris University. The Best of Show honors were bestowed by the Educational Advertising Awards, the largest competition in the country. The Change A Life campaign promotes the unique Engaged Learning curriculum, whereby students "reach-out" into the community to inspire change, including their own. The "Total Campaign" received Best of Show and Gold Awards while the television ad series won a Silver Award.

 

Wall-to-Wall Studios also won a "Gold Award" for the TV advertisement called "Think Scicene" created for the Chaminade University, and a "Gold Award" for its Logo / Identity design of the Digital Marketing Communications logo, commissioned by West Virginia University.

Undoubtedly a signature event within the advertising community, the Pittsburgh ADDY Awards celebrate the power of creativity and acknowledge the achievements in the past year. Wall-to-Wall Studios won Two Gold and Two Silver ADDY Awards at this year's ceremony held at the Carnegie Science Center. Print's Regional Design Annual
, the most comprehensive survey of graphic design in the United States, containing 200 pages of award-winning work, and the only design annual organized by geography, hit the newsstands in December 2010 containing a quote from Wall-to-Wall Studios partner and creative director, Larkin Werner.  Werner's response to a question about the Pittsburgh design community:

 

     "Pittsburgh has had a reputation for being fairly conservative, maybe a little

     provincial, a vestige of our blue-collar history, perhaps. But there's a lot of great,

     progressive, and smart design going on here."

Pittsburgh Magazine, a prominent lifestyle magazine covering the greater Pittsburgh metro area with a monthly readership of nearly 350k, named Wall-to-Wall Studios as "One of the Great Places to Work".  The magazine's survey focused on the intangibles, such as workplace rewards, professional-development opportunities and family-friendly policies, which showed that its winners scored high in all aspects of employee engagement.

Communication Arts Selects Carnegie Mellon Little Brag Book for 2010 Design Annual

The Little Brag Book designed for the Carnegie Mellon University Advancement Office was selected by Communication Arts for inclusion in the Design Annual 2010. Communication Arts' distinguished panel of jurors selected The Little Brag Book as one of 187 winning projects from 4564 entries. The judges noted that "this communication device is as cool as the innovations inside, but not distracting or complicated.  It's a small format, easy to distribute and has high production quality without looking too expensive."  The Little Brag Book showcases innovations attributed to the university's alumni, faculty and students and was created to support the Campaign for Carnegie Mellon University, Inspire Innovation.

Several Wall-to-Wall Studios' Projects Selected by PRINT Regional Design Annual

August 30, 2010

PRINT'S Regional Design Annual, the most comprehensive survey of graphic design in the United States, selected two projects by Wall-to-Wall Studios for inclusion in the December 2010 issue of Print. The first winning entry was for the 2009/2010 Season marketing communications for the School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University, which included direct mail, print collateral and environmental elements. The second winning entry was for the logo and identity system designed by Wall-to-Wall Studios for the community of Oakland. Working in collaboration with the Oakland Community Council, Oakland Task Force, City of Pittsburgh Planning & Public Art and other key stakeholders, Wall-to-Wall Studios designed the branding for Oakland, the third largest commerce center in Pennsylvania and is often considered the cultural hub of the region.
