Wall-to-Wall Studios Launches "Lifetime of Care" Advertising for Hawaii Pacific Health

March 27, 2015

Wall-to-Wall Studios was selected to develop advertising for Kapiolani Medical Center and Pali Momi Medical Center, both part of Hawaii Pacific Health, the state's largest health care system. HPH is a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics, physicians and care providers dedicated to the mission of improving the health and well-being of the people of Hawaii and the Pacific Region. The campaign included television, print, online and out-of-home media.

The goal of the advertising was to bring more awareness about the hospitals and their areas of expertise: Kapiolani as the best place to have your baby but also for your children's ongoing health care needs; Pali Momi's bariatric surgery program is here not only to help you lose weight, but to help change your lifestyle for the healthier long term.

This is Maile. She was born at Kapiolani Medical Center - the only women's and children's hospital in Hawaii. From now on, we’ll be here for Maile. From her first well-baby exam to her first mammogram, and everything in between, it’s our responsibility and our privilege to help keep Maile safe and healthy for the rest of her life.

This is Clayton. Before bariatric surgery at Pali Momi Medical Center he weighed 404 pounds. A year later he's 173 pounds lighter and we're helping him find ways to live a healthier lifestyle. Because the Clayton who's training for his first race today plans to live a very long healthy life.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Designs Branding for "A Winter Landscape" Public Art Installation

February 20, 2015

W|W designed the integrated branding (visual identity, posters, environmental components) for A Winter Landscape Cradling Bits of Sparkle, a public art installation in Market Square by Jennifer Wen Ma. The forest of A Winter Landscape Cradling Bits of Sparkle is composed of a variety of trees: weeping willows, evergreens, flowering fruit trees, and bamboos. The trees are painted black with Chinese ink, creating a stark landscape that is seemingly in a state of arrested development. The trees will evolve through the course of the exhibition – over time, green tender shoots form on the bamboo and willow branches, and flowers bloom on the fruit trees, announcing the arrival of spring.

The installation marks the the second project of the Market Square Public Art Program, presented by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and the City of Pittsburgh, with production support by the Office of Public Art

Building a multi-story brand from the ground up, Wall-to-Wall Studios designed the integrated branding for Sienna Mercato and its three distinct dining options (Emporio, Mezzo and Il Tetto) all under one roof (including one that retracts), in Pittsburgh. W|W designed the Sienna Mercato visual identity system, branded elements & graphics, menus, advertisements, merchandising, apparel, signage, environment & decor and website (Wordpress). Thanks to W|W partners on the project, including letter artist Ryan Hamrick for executing hand-drawn versions of the W|W designed identity system and logos, Anthony Purcell for the sign/mural painting throughout Sienna Mercato and Two Arms for chalk art on Mezzo.

This brand video provides some perspective on the depth of the design and branding effort across medias and mediums, as well as some of the tasty cuisine.

Sienna Mercato, the parent brand, is home to good times three.

Emporio, the meatball joint, is located on the first floor with 32 draft beers.

Mezzo, on the second floor, features house made charcuterie and gourmet Italian fare with a wood-fired pizza oven.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Designs Integrated Branding Campaign for Pittsburgh Dance Council

November 19, 2014

Wall-to-Wall Studios designed the integrated branding (visual identity, promotional collateral and more) for the Pittsburgh Dance Council 2014/15 Season. The Pittsburgh Dance Council is a program of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust that presents world-class contemporary dance. The season design includes a custom font executed by W|W with each letter of "Dance" having multiple versions, all reflecting motion as a nod to the energy and movement of contemporary dance.

W|W produced this motion graphic animated brand video that showcases the 2014/15 Pittsburgh Dance Council Season. (The sound track on the animation is titled "Scarecrow" and is used with permission of the artist, DZA x Kidkanevil.)

An animation illustrates the custom font family.

Interior page layouts from the promotional brochure leverage the design elements.

A series of graphic patterns were created for the brand toolkit that bring a sense of movement to the design, each of which interacts with the artist profile pages.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Rebrands Island Air Identity, Advertising, Website and Passenger Experience

September 9, 2014

When it comes to airline travel, everyone agrees it can be frustratingly complex: something has to give. Island Air is looking to change the game in Hawaii, to make inter-island travel as simple as it can be. Wall-to-Wall Studios was hired to develop the new brand strategy, identity system, advertising, marketing and to re-think the entire passenger experience, from online booking to boarding to baggage claim.

Many improvements have been made from customer service to operations. Upgraded conveniences like free, no-hassle WiFi, multiple charging stations and amenities at the gates (complimentary beverages, snacks, live entertainment, chair massages) have also been implemented. There are other surprises coming on the horizon, but the biggest improvement we hope to make is the customers' perception of air travel. Heads up:

Change is in the air.

Wall-to-Wall Studios Designs and Develops Website for the Silver Eye Center for Photography

September 8, 2014

Wall-to-Wall Studios designed & developed the website for The Silver Eye Center for Photography, a nationally-recognized, non-collecting institution exclusively dedicated to contemporary photography. Founded in 1985, Silver Eye has been at the forefront of celebrating photography, both as an expressive art form and as a medium that brings to light the telling details and larger stories that influence and inform an understanding of ourselves and the world. With a singular commitment to exhibiting and promoting contemporary photography and photo-based multimedia, Silver Eye is unique in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region.

Silver Eye began in 1979 as two separate organizations: Blatant Image Gallery, a cooperative gallery designed to provide exhibition space to local fine art photographers, and The Silver Eye Photographic Workshop, which brought nationally known photographers to Pittsburgh to exhibit their work and to conduct workshops. These two organizations merged in 1985 and became the Blatant Image/Silver Eye, which later changed to Silver Eye Center for Photography in 1992.

The responsively designed website was developed with the WordPress content management system and utilizes parallax scrolling to deliver an elegant user experience. The responsive design approach responds to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation by using a mix of flexible grids and layouts, images and an intelligent use of CSS media queries. As the user switches from their laptop to iPad to mobile device, the website automatically switches to accommodate for resolution, image size and scripting abilities.
